KEY FACTS AT YOUR FINGER TIPS
Date and Venue
The regional conference in South Africa, hosted by South Africa¡¯s National Association for Clean Air, will be held
1-3 October 2008 in Nelspruit, a leading resort on the edge of the beautiful, exotic Kruger National Park. The annual IUAPPA Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, 30 September.
Travel
International travellers can most conveniently fly into the nearby Kruger Mpumalanga Airport. There are regular scheduled services from Johannesburg and (less frequently) Capetown.
Timetable
Abstracts of papers for presentation should be submitted by
June 20th. The date for submission of papers is
15 August. See the NACA website for more details.
Themes and Programme
The titles of the sessions and themes of the conference include regional air quality, urban air quality, air quality management in the developing world, climate change and co-benefits, new developments in air quality science, particulate matter, air quality and human health, and air quality reporting for public information.
There will be a strong focus on air quality management in South Africa and the developing world generally, but this will be set in a broad international context so papers from Europe and North America are particularly welcome.
Social Programme and Excursions
As well as the Ice-Breaker reception there is a Gala Dinner which promises to be a spectacular occasion. There will be a partners programme and a variety of post-Conference tours will be available.
